Another viewer suggestion on Twitch. Someone asked if I was able to make a crocheted bumblebee. So I started hunting for a simple pattern which also looked good when finished
The person whose Granny Square designs I use came out on top with this really simple and extremely cute design
I’ve made a couple of tweaks to the pattern as I’ve learned things from other patterns over the past couple of years and the bees I make now have perfect stripes and the faces are perfectly circular, rather than slightly hexagonal as some amigurumi patterns have a habit of being
Several bees in, the next suggestion was to make “Pride Bees”. I’d seen quite a few where people made the entire bee the colour of the pride flag and I wasn’t so keen on that. So I decided to make just the striped section as the flags instead
I went away and researched which pride flags would convert nicely in to the pattern without making the bees any bigger or smaller
In the end, I was making 10 different style bees in 3 different sizes:
These proved very popular and, to date, I have made 78 bees with either the Standard or the Pride Flag designs

The first featured here, was a special bee I made for Halloween 2021. A bee, in ghost costume
I’ve only made one of these so far, although I have promised someone I would make them one at some point
It was affectionately named the “Boo Bee”
The one at the back of the final picture was a concept idea which I’ve since decided not to go with and was meant to represent the House colours from the Harry Potter series
The front two, were special designs for Christmas 2021 and I only made a couple of these as, again, they were quite complicated to make, but they are nice to have up with my own collection of creations
